Funny how it happens, just like that. Minding our own business and then it’s summer, or threatening to become so, anyway. Windows down, the light lazier somehow, glinting off the lake in indolent flashes. No sharpness left in the sun.

I’ve been waking up every day very tired. I only want to nap on the porch and eat sugary cereal and these grape flavored gummy candies I got from the Japanese grocery store.

Anyway, it’s official: somehow – and certainly against all odds – Justin Vernon has made some songs for summer time, and the weather, as far as I can tell, is giving its blessing.
