TUNES // Winley – Aquaphobia
Post by Misha
My mom sent me a wind chime for the back yard. It’s handmade – a friend, I think – decorated with beaded sea shells. Bright, glassy blues and greens. I hung it up in the tree next to the bird feeder which is empty because I have once again underestimated the ferocity of the birds’ hunger.
I can hear it now, faintly, tinkling in the aftermath of an evening storm. The sound is out there, reminding me gently of the wind and grass. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed it.
This song has got that same cadence; soothing, but insistent. And at the edges, a milky blue, dusk, sticky hands, garden soil, the shape of a memory.
