TUNES // Marika Hackman – all night
Post by Misha
this is the kind of grainy darkness where things are reduced to their shapes, lines, and heat.
it’s getting too warm to sleep underneath the covers again which is mostly unpleasant except that it allows for the sensation of a fan breeze hitting on bare skin. things become one in the heat, and the tiny flutter of air meeting leg or arm is sometimes the only hint that there are edges separating your body from the temperature outside of it.
the snaking fluidity of summer nights is transformative and rarely capturable except sometimes in certain combinations of colors and sounds. it is hazy and melodic and close to sleep. passing the moments with mumbled love.
Marika Hackman‘s new album, Any Human Friend, will be out August 9th on Sub Pop. Order it here.
