TUNES // Shormey – LA
Post by Misha
music floats from someone’s fist sized bluetooth speaker at the first pool party of the year. we dip into the unheated water and it is a temperature somewhere between cold and tepid. backyard leaves float at the other end, but they are far enough away to be ignored. we bury ourselves in the water, to the neck. feet making pirouettes. blood tingling up close to the surface.
the notes expand and contract as the sunlight leaves the air, warbling into anemia as an edge of light retreats along the pavement and inches away from a bare leg on a blanket. it cannot be described as tinny, though. it is full and warm like a bottle of red wine passed around a circle of friends, liquid and lapping.
if every song is a dream, this one dreams of summer.
