The first time I got acupuncture I fell into a meditative state in which I visualized my body as a smooth pool of water and the needles in my skin as small stones dropping into it. I imagined that I could feel the ripples connecting with each other and then returning to calm. Pain and tension radiated from the center of one ripple to another, all the way to the edges of my body, and out of it.

And then the ripples kept going into the world where they became indistinguishable with sound and movement, the way the colors in the sky of a water color painting all run together behind the picture, gently cradling anything that needs an edge to be safe.

This album is a little bit like that.
