Trixie Mattel is bringing all the snappy pop sensibility of the drag show and some much needed gender-bending perspective to a classic genre which has, for me anyway, gotten real tired. It’s a joy to listen to and a joy to see the doors of radio-friendly country being forced ever so slowly open to include people who make it, uh, actually interesting again.
