The sun was out, but the light was cool. The pavement was still wet from rain the night before. I ran a hand along the curves of the freeway and looked up at the hills over Glendale. The rain had rinsed away every smoggy particulate so there they were, newly minted, crystalline, and dusted with the lightest layer of snow. I can’t even explain how light it was. Translucent. Mouth watering.
It looked so soft and sweet up there that I wanted to stop and watch it melt.
I’ve been revisiting Susanne Sundfør‘s gently unexpected 2017 album, Music For People In Trouble, the last few days. I love this song. It accompanied me on a morning drive the other day. Buy the album here via Bella Union.
