TUNES // Loma – Joy

Post by Misha

i made some marks on paper with a piece of charcoal.

i was going to tell myself,

you are trying to draw.
you are trying to be an artist.

but i think i just really liked how my hand felt
dragging a pencil across the page.
the friction.
darkness appearing under my fingers like a chasm.

and no matter how hard i tried
i couldn’t figure out how to fail

unnamedJoy is the third single from indie-folk trio Loma, and the first thing that the band wrote together. The richly instrumented song explores both the soaring highs and smothering fear of pursuing joy. Loma‘s debut album will be out on February 23rd on Sub Pop. Pre-order here.
