A story about anger and letting it come in to fill the spaces left over from loss, about staying up late at night writing down the things you’d want to say if you had a chance you’ll certainly never have, only to fall asleep on the pages and wake up in a cold sweat without even the comfort of righteousness to keep you warm.
It might be only half true, the way most stories are – the way the acoustic guitar soothes the edges of a vengeful bass line, as if to acknowledge a time in the distant future when all of this will feel less sharp – but it is no less poignant or relatable for its immediacy.
The Bull Brothers are a sibling duo based out of London. This Is What Happens, the band’s first single, was produced by Matt Ingram, drummer for Laura Marling. Look for more soon – you can keep up with them on Facebook here.
