hey so this how you can make a classic hip hop track utilizing all the alpha dominant boastfulness of the genre – proclaiming yourself all the way to the top (which after all is its own sort of revolutionary self-care) – while at the same time lifting up the women who inspired and helped you along the way.

it’s a really subtle way of rejecting the depressing supposition that the top has to be a lonely place. which i mean, if you’re going to define what the best is, might as well make it a little better than what we’ve come to expect.
