This is the first time I’ve ever heard gender-neutral pronouns in a rock song and it gives me hope. Like we’re pushing open this beautiful space for something good to grow, and even if some of it withers before our grandchildren are born, we can still show them this song and remember how for at least a few minutes it was there and it rocked.
