The Dutch / New Zealand origins of My Baby seem a little improbable when you hear the hymnal-edged bayou rock of their latest album. Think early Black Keys, psychedelia, and a voice that meets the soulful power of Erika Wennerstrom with a touch of vulnerable breathlessness.
My Baby have been around for a while – their sophomore album, Shamanaid, came out last year – but they are one of my favorite discoveries in recent memory.
