TUNES // River Whyless – All Day All Night

I think that absolute, unabashed sincerity is maybe the rarest and most daring thing being done in art today. Smirky hipsterism makes it so easy to shrug off criticism as an inside joke that no one else was cool enough to get; to admit real investment in a thing requires a lot of vulnerability.

And while every genre has the potential to produce the truly genuine, there’s something about fiddles that makes it particularly difficult to hide behind irony.

I know it’s New Music Friday, but here’s one from a few months back that stopped me in my tracks this morning.

Play the rest of River Whyless’ debut album, We All The Light, here.
