Pumarosa swept onto the music scene almost exactly one year ago with their moody single, Priestess, quickly becoming the band on everyone’s lips. Overnight, they were on every “next big thing” list and playing every festival showcase of 2015. The band took the responsibility of high expectation very seriously – knowing both the value and the fickle nature of buzz, they rolled out new music judiciously, taking care never to disappoint.
On new single, Honey, the London five piece comes out of the gate fierce, scrappy, and looking for a fight. “God gave us honey, oh you stupid sonofabitch,” the tune opens. Unlike their previous singles, Honey is big and unrestrained, a demonstration of Pumarosa’s raw power. It’s a good look for them, one that shows the range and versatility of a band that’s here to stay.
