TUNES // Drugdealer – Easy To Forget (feat. Ariel Pink)
Michael Collins has gone by various monikers in the past, including Run DMT and (my personal favorite) Salvia Plath, recording albums inspired by hallucinogens and released onto cassette tape on Bandcamp. Those were fun times.
Now Collins calls himself Drugdealer, perhaps signaling a transition from the profoundly under-the-influence sound of his past projects into a more controlled (not to mention more commercially viable–and I swear I mean that in the best possible way) space. “Easy To Forget” is the newest single from forthcoming album, The End Of Comedy. Featuring an assist from the incomparable Ariel Pink, it’s part wistful surf ballad and part spaghetti western honky tonk. I’m pretty addicted.
