August in Los Angeles is kind of a strange thing. Everyone keeps going on and on about how summer is almost over as if the hottest days of the year aren’t still in front of us. I guess there’s something comforting in assigning an arbitrary end date to the endless expanse of shimmering, almost oppressively beautiful California sunshine that otherwise could bleed mundanely into itself forever.
So anyway, ease into “Fall” with some lovely shoegazy pop from Hoops. Their new EP is out on Fat Possum now.
