Private Island is a very Southern California band. The lilting guitar licks speak through air rich with salt and smog – a childhood spent in the water, sand between toes, swimming lessons, West Coast pier sunsets, pool parties with cheap weed and domestic beer. It’s an inviting, nostalgic sound even for those of us whose lungs still prefer the thin, clean taste of mountains.
