Steffaloo – The Hurt

Sometimes the universality of heartbreak can become banal; even real truths can come off cliched. This fate could easily befall Steffaloo’s lyrics if not for her deeply personal, painfully genuine delivery. The kind of singing that almost makes you feel like you should turn away, like you’ve been caught reading someone’s journal. The hurt is supposed to hurt,” she intones softly over a lovely bed of piano and strings. This refrain is sung as personal mantra, every word a gentle reminder from the artist to herself.

Steffaloo’s new EP, Throw Me To The Wolves, out now.
