Little Simz – Interlude (ft. Bibi Bourelly) [Prod: Loner Muaka + Josh Arcé]

On the heels of her debut full length, Little Simz is already back with another EP, Drop X. The EP is full of all the intensity and fierce ambition we’ve come to expect from Simz, but I am drawn to the soft, understated vulnerability of Interlude. The story of unravelling love unfolds quietly, the heartbroken refrain echoing in a familiar darkness: “This whiskey never lied to me, baby.” It is a lovely (albeit sad) affirmation of the artist’s emotional and stylistic range.
