Kill J – You’re Good But I’m Better

Kill J is quickly cementing her status as a prominent jewel in the heavy crown that is Scandinavian pop music. This track has it all and all of it is damn near flawless. Feathery vocals build effortlessly from the sweetly wavering verses (cheekily punctuated, of course, with the blistering anger of lines like, “Do I have to slit my fucking wrists to get an answer out of you?”) to soaring tremolos, to an absolutely explosive chorus, and in the next breath right back to that sly little barely-there falsetto. Oh my god and those vocal trills in the chorus. Don’t get me started. Anyway, I’m obsessed with this song.
