On last year’s Vitals, New Orleans-based rockers Mutemath took a detour from the electrifying prog-rock of their first three LPs and showed incredible versatility in a sweet space somewhere between Passion Pit and RAC and Phoenix.
Changes, the new single from Mutemath’s forthcoming album of the same name, follows the band even further into the electronic dreamscape. Borrowing elements from electro rnb, jazz, and dubstep, as well as plenty of live instrumentation and masterful vocal sampling, Changes is a characteristically thoughtful study in genre.
